Documents for an easy booking

For each listing, landlords define which documents they require from tenants. In listing page, see section House Rules / Landlord Policies / Required Documents.
With Rentwlo you submit these documents when doing a booking request. They may be:
– ID or Passport
– Proof of income
– Personal video

Options: Landlords may opt not to ask documents and request them only after approval via message (also optional).
Note: the personal video will not be possible to provide via message.

Let’s briefly review them

ID or Passport

If you have a national id card, that is best. Scan both sides.
Else, passport is also ok. Scan cover and relevant pages.
Provide also document with tax id: Portuguese tax number, NIF, or if you’re a foreign national your tax number in your country of residence.
You can attach several documents, PDF or images (jpg, png, gif).

Proof of income

As proof of income salary statements for the last 3 months are normally sufficient. You can also submit your yearly IRS statement.
Alternatively, some landlords may accept 3 – 6 months bank account statements.
Also, some landlords may request a guarantor (fiador, in Portuguese).
You can attach several documents, PDF or images (jpg, png, gif).

If you do not want to submit this information at the time of booking, for privacy reasons, in text box ‘Introduce yourself to the host’, you can explain your reasons.

Personal video

The Personal video is a feature unique to Rentwlo. It’s the equivalent of having a meeting with the landlord. It’s a brief video cv.

In case requested by the landlord:
With your phone in a horizontal position record a 5 min video of yourself. Talk a bit about you, your career, current job, income and why you would like to rent the property. Then upload it to Rentwlo to your personal area. When doing a booking request simply select it. Give it a try!
